December Daily 2013 | The Foundations

November 26, 2013

Hi everyone!  I'm excited to check in with you and report my progress on my December Daily!

Not only have I got my first two weeks worth of foundation pages ready to show you, but I've also got a set of templates and sketches based on the page designs that I have been rotating throughout my album, available for you to download for use in your own December albums!

My December Daily 2013 Foundation Pages

When making the foundation pages for my December album I used the following considerations to make the process go a little smoother:

  1. I rationed my journal cards and grouped together 4-6 designs that coordinated for each spread and then supplemented them with patterned papers and vellum when needed.

  2. I designed my layouts in two page spreads rather than individually to insure a cohesive design within each spread.

  3. I tried to introduced a fun technique or design feature within each spread (i.e. confetti pockets, interactive flaps and tone-on-tone texturing) to punch up my simple design.

  4. I used only (4) different photo sizes in an effort to simplify my photo printing.

Here's a closer look at each of the finished page layouts:

The (9) page layouts that I used throughout my album are available for free download below in .pdf and .psd format and are sized 8.5 x 11". These clean, modular designs are a great way to utilize your favorite journal cards and patterned papers on your pages, while keeping things simple.

Stay tuned for an update on a few of the resources I'll be using to stay motivated during my December Daily project, later on this week! And for tips on saving time and money on your December Daily check out my guest post over at Creative Passion!
