Hi everyone! I'm back again to share the layouts that I made this week. And as you can see I'm still going strong with the 8.5 x 11" and I'm really considering making the switch! They say it take 21 days to form a habit (at least I think I read that somewhere!) So if you see more letter-sized pages from me next week I think we can call it official ;)
Anyway thanks for stopping by and here's a look at my creations from this past week.
My Pages from Week 03/31/13
This is a recent photo of my oldest son and I've taken the opportunity to journal about his ever-changing personality. In life we take the good with the bad and its important to acknowledge this in our memory keeping as well-- for it is the not so great moments that make the great moments truly shine. This is certainly true of parenthood! As a mom I've experienced some bad days--but most of those days can be turned upside down by a single silly or sweet moment shared with one of my boys.
This page I made as a reminder to treasure the little things in life. To some an iced coffee, a good idea book and 15 kid-free minutes to enjoy them both are "no big deal," but I have come to treasure this time and enjoyed paying homage to the "me-moment" in this page.

I have to admit that this is one of those photos that I scrapbook again and again. I just love looking back on this time in my son's life...he was so sweet and adventurous (he is still both of those things but in a different way) and omigosh that hair! But I chose it for this particular page because the sun shining on my son's face and him laying in the grass really just embodied the feeling of Spring...laid back and oh so pleasant. When I look at this photo I think "bring on the sun and the green grass and the blue skies."

This is an old photo that I had rated "maybe" as far as scrapbooking it, but my family and I spent time looking at photos earlier this week and this one really got us talking. This is my husband and my oldest son at the age that my youngest is now. This photo is one of hundreds that capture the special bond shared between these two guys, but after reminiscing I couldn't wait to get it onto a page!
This photo was taken on a drive through the canyon near where my husband grew up, shortly after we were married. It was a beautiful trip and I loved reflecting back as I made the page. What makes the photos from this trip even more special is that shortly after this drive there was a horrible forest fire that wiped out most of this area and it is still in the re-growth phase nearly 7 years later. We feel very fortunate to have experienced and captured the beauty of this area when we had the chance.
This page I made about starting a journal. I've actually used my first journal entry as the text on the page and it was really fun using the feminine prints and elements in a page about myself. A scrapbooker I admire very much--Leah Farquharson said to me once that it is never selfish to scrapbook yourself and while I am taking baby steps into this arena--I have to say I wholeheartedly agree!
